Mahalo Nui Loa, Donors!

The last few years have been tremendous for the growth of Aloha Harvest and our impact on the Oahu community. With more donors joining our team, more volunteers and more generous contributions, we are reaching our goal more successfully every day to deliver quality, donated food to Hawaii’s hungry.

Mahalo nui loa to all our donors! A special thanks to the Billy Healy Foundation, Omidyar, the Campbell Family Foundation, as well as the Hawaii Women’s Legal Foundation and the Armstrong Foundation and all their contributions over the last three years. Aloha Harvest looks forward to ushering in another outstanding year of continued service to Oahu’s community. Since our inception in 1999, we have collected and distributed millions of pounds of food, and it’s all thanks to those who support our commitment.

We are deeply grateful for all your continued generosity to help us continue to grow as a non-profit organization to feed the hungry families of Hawaii. We are so blessed to receive the support of individuals and partners to strive towards our goal to make Oahu less hungry every day. Please check in with us to see our new partners and recent activity around the island!

ABC Stores Supports Aloha Harvest with $5,000 Grant

Acknowledging Aloha Harvest’s continued service to those in need, ABC Stores has provided a $5,000 grant to support the organization’s program.

Ku’ulei Williams, Executive Director, welcomed the grant saying “your continued generous support of our mission enables us to reach out to more needy and homeless individuals and families in our community. Your partnership with Aloha Harvest is making a difference to over 48,260 individuals a month!”

Aloha Harvest - Helping Feed Hawaii's Hungry!

Since its inception in 1999 Aloha Harvest has delivered over 7 million pounds of food entirely ‘free of charge’ to agencies serving those in need in our community. Aloha Harvest has partnered with 148 agencies to help donate food to the hungry.

Aloha Harvest prides itself on making its program as green as possible. Whenever possible they recycle and to prevent waste food is picked up and delivered the very same day. Strict standards for food safety are applied throughout the entire process and Aloha Harvest is proud that it has never had any complaints about the safety of the food delivered.

In addition to the generous ABC grant, Aloha Harvest is funded by donations from special projects such as Food Drives organized by schools, businesses, organizations, and churches.

We need your help! Aloha Harvest Receives 40K Challenge Grant!

The Hawaii Community Foundation has awarded Aloha Harvest a $40,000 “challenge” grant from the Omidyar ‘Ohana Fund to purchase two new food delivery vehicles with the requirement that the organization secure a matching dollar amount from donors by December 10, 2011.
Aloha Harvest is a non-profit organization that gathers quality, donated food from restaurants, grocery stores as well as other providers and delivers it “free of charge” to social service agencies feeding the hungry in Hawai‘i. Established in 1999, the organization has collected and distributed over seven million pounds of perishable and non-perishable food & beverage. Product is provided by over 650 participating donors including restaurants, caterers, government facilities, hotels, food distributors, businesses and others. Most of this food would otherwise be discarded and go to waste.

Executive Director Ku’ulei Williams expressed her gratitude saying “Without the generosity of such organizations as Hawai’i Community Foundation’s ‘Omidyar ‘Ohana Fund, we could not achieve our goals to feed Hawaii’s hungry. Aloha Harvest encourages the community to build upon this foundation and donate today in order to enhance future service capabilities.”

For more information and to make a contribution, please call 808-537-6945 or visit alohaharvest.org specifying that your donation is purposed to match the Hawaii Community Foundation grant. Credit cards are accepted.
